About Provider
Serving over 9,000 students spread across 346 square miles, Westside Union School District prides itself on being “the district of choice” with more choice-based programs than any other district in the Antelope Valley. Westside Union School District features 12 schools, providing a world-class education to students from kindergarten to 8th grade. Continuing a tradition of high academic achievement, a majority of Westside Union School District schools exceed the (formally) coveted 800 scores on the Academic Performance Index administered by the California Department of Education.
The communities served are West Lancaster, Quartz Hill, West Palmdale, and Leona Valley. A caring, supportive, and motivating learning environment is evident throughout the schools. Student’s individual needs are considered in their class placement, as well as their needs to attain grade-level performance standards. Planning a program to ensure each student’s school success is the goal! A positive school climate that helps ensure student progress is maintained at all schools. Active parent participation is encouraged through the PTAs, School Site Councils, School Advisory Councils, parent volunteer programs, and the West Antelope Valley Educational Trust Foundation (WAVE).
